About Casnovia Township Minimize

Casnovia Township is located in Western Michigan. We are located in Muskegon County being 22 miles from the center of Muskegon. We are also 25 miles North of Grand Rapids.

We have one lake in our township.  Easy access off M37, Half Moon Lake is large enough for boating, swimming, and of course fishing.  In the winter, you will find fishing shanties set up on the lake as soon as the lake freezes.

We are a farming community. In the spring, you will be amazed at the blossoms from the cherries, peaches, and apple trees. You will see many fields of corn, wheat, and soy bean fields along with many hay fields.

Food bags are available at the Township for low income seniors (60+). Seniors must reside in Casnovia Township.

Bags are available the first month of each quarter and are on a first come, first served basis. They can be picked up at the Township Offices during normal office hours (8am-3pm on Mondays, 8am-1pm Tu-Th)

Food is provided through MOCAP - a program that helps supplement the diets of low-income seniors by providing them with food and nutrition assistance at no cost.

MUSKEGON COMMODITY SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD PROGRAM is a monthly Senior Food Box available to Casnovia residents. Clients do have to apply and be approved in order to participate. The application is  below. Once the application is received, you will receive a letter indicating whether  you are approved or denied and the pick up information.

There is also a pantry at the MOCAP office at 1170 W Southern Ave, Muskegon, MI 49441. The pantry is available Monday – Friday 8am to 12:00 & 12:30 – 4pm. Clients can come to the pantry once every 30 days.
